Information Technology Department
The IT Department at Utilities Employees Credit Union has a wide variety of programming and
operational skill sets that are ideal for the Symitar™/Episys® based credit union. Our programmers have
a variety of financial, statistical, and manufacturing backgrounds that give them an edge up on adapting
to the idiosyncrasies of the Symitar™ core.
Our internal software team consists of six programmers with decades of experience. We expertly use
Power-On, CUI (a C# based SymConnect™ tool), JavaScript, and AIX (UNIX) and Linux OS Tools to
automate many of our in-house processes. We have created a wide variety of process-specific tools
that reduce direct staff interaction with core data, minimizing error-prone manual entry.
Since we believe that databases should be an integral part of any IT Strategic Plan, we have leveraged
SQL database applications interfacing directly with Symitar™ providing benefits such as centralized
storage of CU-wide common data, including dividend and loan rates.
Our Security Specialist, Network Administrator, and Operational and Help Desk staff round out the IT
Department, providing secure applications and leading-edge hardware platforms that are maintained
at our headquarters.
