News & Events:
PCUA Visit to AdvantEDGE – In January, staff from PCUA's business subsidiary, Pacul Services, Inc., had the opportunity to spend the day with the AdvantEDGE staff at our facility in Wyomissing, PA. January 2012 marked the beginning of AdvantEDGE's partnership with the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association as one of the Association's preferred business service providers for their credit union constituents.

During a full day of sessions and activities, PCUA's Business Development, Audit, and Compliance personnel had a chance to meet our AdvantEDGE team members, tour our facility, and participate in presentations and discussions on current industry needs addressed by each of our business service areas. It was an enjoyable and productive day and helped PCUA broaden their understanding of how we deliver custom solutions by listening to each credit union's needs, and partnering them with our team's diversity of expertise in financial and supporting services.
AdvantEDGE Web Programmer Recognized for his Creativity – One of the key creators of our AdvantEDGE website was recently recognized for his colorful contribution to some holiday fun organized by Utilities Employees Credit Union. Jerry Behney, E-Services Programmer for UECU, won first place in the credit union's Festive Holiday Sweater Contest, for sporting the best representation of all cultural holidays in one sweater. Jerry, along with E-Services Technical Leader Sean Mango and Multimedia Graphic Designer Greg Cosgrove, built the current AdvantEDGE Financial Services™, LLC website. Congratulations Jerry and thank you for always inspiring us with your creativity!
Lan-Chester Chapter Meeting of PCUA – Three of our AdvantEDGE staff had the opportunity to attend the November 2011 meeting of the PA Credit Union Association’s Lan-Chester Chapter Vendor Expo and Youth Ambassador Contest: our Marketing/Business Development/E-Services Manager Jane Kennedy, Real Estate Lending Manager Rick Minjock, and CUSO Manager Mary Ann George.

The AdvantEDGE team members had a chance to interface with credit union representatives from organizations across southeast Pennsylvania at the expo. Mary Ann served as one of this year’s youth competition judges and Jane and Rick met some credit union friends and colleagues, shared some great conversations, and enjoyed the evening speeches from the youth ambassador contestants.
Compliance Town Meeting for PCUA – AdvantEDGE hosted a regional PCUA Compliance Town Meeting in our headquarters at Utilities Employees Credit Union, Wyomissing, PA in October. This was one of several Fall 2011 Town Hall Meetings held throughout the state by Pennsylvania Credit Union Association to provide updates on regulatory compliance and industry news. Ken Stavarski, our Internal Audit Manager & Compliance Officer, enjoyed hosting the event with the AdvantEDGE staff, who had the opportunity to network with 35 credit union professionals from Berks County and the surrounding region. From our feedback from the meeting’s participants, they found the overview of recent regulatory changes and the open forum discussions helpful to understanding what action their credit unions need to take to stay in compliance.
Schuylkill Valley Chapter Meeting of PCUA – AdvantEDGE Manager Mary Ann George attended the October 2011 meeting of the PA Credit Union Association's Schuylkill Valley Chapter held at the Reading Public Museum. The event provided an opportunity for credit union representatives from Berks County to meet on current industry topics, view the interactive and engaging "Moneyville" exhibit, and hold their annual Youth Ambassador Competition. Mary Ann served as one of this year's judges for the youth competition and extends congratulations to the three fine contestants.
Lehigh Valley Chapter Meeting of PCUA – AdvantEDGE staff member Terry Larkin, Asset Recovery Manager, led a discussion on Collections Philosophy at the October 2011 meeting of the PA Credit Union Association’s Lehigh Valley Chapter, held at First Commonwealth FCU. Terry provided participants with tips for managing a delinquent loan portfolio, which he has developed during more than ten years of experience in this field. His discussion included topics such as the role collections plays in loan portfolio growth and the comparative values of managing asset recovery in-house or partnering with a third-party vendor.
PROFITstar® Users Group Meeting – AdvantEDGE shared our story at this fall’s ProfitStar® Users Group meeting held in our facility at Utilities Employees Credit Union. The Users Group provides regular professional development meetings for participants from regional credit unions and community banks who use PROFITstar® software for asset/liability management and budgeting.
PCUA Fall Leadership Conference – Mary Ann George, our CUSO’s Manager, and staff member Brenda Fulop, our Senior Internal Auditor, represented AdvantEDGE at this fall’s PA Credit Union Association conference. Both golfed in the CUPAC fundraiser golf tournament at Seven Springs (see Brenda in photo). Brenda, Mary Ann and fellow teammates Steve Davis and Shane Pentz of Timberland FCU truly defined the word “scramble” as they ripped the cover off the ball (you had to be there) to finish in second place, second flight. Brenda and Mary Ann gave out tablet cubes and pretzels to those who visited them in the Expo Hall to learn about AdvantEDGE. Congratulations to Bachman Snack Basket Drawing Winners Barb Vitolo of Wyrope Williamsport FCU and Clem Moxie of PPG & Associates FCU!
PCUA Annual Convention – Thank you to everyone who visited the AdvantEDGE vendor booth at the 2011 PCUA Annual Convention in Hershey, PA, including Glenn Moyer, Pennsylvania Secretary of Banking (pictured here with AdvantEDGE Manager Mary Ann George). We enjoyed meeting many credit union representatives from across the state and discussing the challenges and opportunities ahead of your organizations. We look forward to future opportunities to reconnect with you individually or at upcoming PCUA and industry events.
SymEast 2011 Users’ Conference – Laurie Gross, Operations System Analyst, for AdvantEDGE enjoyed reconnecting with long-time business acquaintances at this year’s SymEast conference in Baltimore, Maryland. This was a great opportunity to discuss current IT solutions with representatives from other credit unions who use Symitar™ / Episys® for their core processing.
